Description: The Director of Credit is responsible for managing the overall credit and collection functions for Bassett Furniture. This position develops policies, practices and procedures designed to manage and minimize accounts receivable risk; researches customers and extends appropriate lines of credit; and administers the timely collection of accounts receivable balances to improve cash flow. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, the Director of Credit manages a staff of one credit manager and four analysts/administrators.
The person in this role oversees the credit application processes and is responsible to ensure appropriate financial data is gathered and analyzed for the determination of customer credit limits and term. They will also monitor all credit exposure, including current credit limits and takes actions where appropriate to adequately manage risk
Qualifications:
- BS degree, preferably in accounting, finance or banking
- Minimum 10 years of finance, accounting or banking experience, with general credit experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably home furnishings
- At least 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience
