Meximuebles returns to High Point Market

Company will offer products in several key wood categories that showcase its manufacturing capabilities

HIGH POINT — Mexico-based case goods manufacturer Meximuebles is showing here for the first time in three years with a mix of solid wood product that presents buyers a glimpse at its production capabilities.

The company is showing in Space I-557 at Plaza Suites. Its mix will include three bedroom sets, five entertainment consoles and a dining set that includes a table and six chairs and a server. All are made with solid woods such as pine and parota.

Consoles in 64-inch, 73-inch and 85-inch sizes retail from $499 to $599.

The product is made and finished at the company’s production facilities in the Guadalajara area of Mexico. These plants also include lumber processing and dry kiln facilities that allow the company to control the supply and quality of its wood mix.

It also recently added metal processing to its capabilities for use as bases for TV consoles as well as some hardware and fixtures for glass-door cabinets.

The company decided not to show during much of the pandemic as it was focused on improving its manufacturing capabilities and ability to ship to its U.S. customers quickly. Today it is quoting 45-day lead times on most products, although some can ship more quickly.

“Our product is selling — it is doing very well,” said Sergio Zorio, a manufacturing and design consultant for the company who is based in the United States.

He added that the time is right for the company to return to High Point given the growth it is seeing among major retailers. Although the year got off to a slow start because of high inventories at retail, he said the business is coming back of late as retailers are placing orders for the upcoming holiday season.

He also said he remains positive about the coming year despite some of the prevailing negative outlook.

“We keep adding new SKUs every month and are excited about 2023,” he said, noting that the company has recently added bookcases to its mix. He added that the company also expects a strong finish to the year, with strong sales in September and strong sales anticipated for both October and November.
