Long-time executive plans to serve company in an advisory role as a non-employee consultant
DANBURY, Ct. – Ethan Allen Interiors announced that long-time executive Corey Whitely plans to step down from his position as executive vice president, operations, manufacturing and technology effective Jan. 14 to become a non-employee consultant to the company.
News of his plans to step down from his full-time employment and serve in an advisory role follows the company’s Dec. 15 announcement of his promotion to his current position. Whitely joined the company in 1988 and before his recent promotion had served as executive vice president, administration and chief financial officer since July 2014.
The announcement appeared in a Jan. 5 filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission that provided no further details on Whitely’s departure from his full-time position.
Whitely told Home News Now he has had a very good experience working with his colleagues and CEO Farooq Kathwari during his time at Ethan Allen.
“With 33 years working across the various areas of our vertical structure I felt this was good timing for me pursue other interests,” Whitely said. “Working alongside Mr. Kathwari and my colleagues has been a most rewarding experience and I am pleased to continue working with the company in consultancy role.”
