Malaysian International Furniture Fair rescheduled to early July

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – The Malaysian International Furniture Fair, originally set for March, has been reschedule to July due to Covid-19 related travel restrictions, organizers said Wednesday.

The show, the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia, was originally planned for March 8-11, but will now take place July 6-9 at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre and the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

“In view of the announcement that Malaysia will delay the opening of its borders to international travelers, we have decided to proactively reschedule MIFF 2022 from 8-11 Mar to 6-9 July to ensure the show is as successful as possible,” said Karen Goi, general manager of MIFF. “We believe that the new dates of MIFF 2022 will allow exhibitors to meet with buyers from around the world who have longed for a face-to-face meeting with them.”

Officials said the show’s exclusive Valued Visitor Programme (VVP) will continue to offer complimentary hotel stays to buyers who wish to attend the physical event, which features a wide mix of upholstery and wood furniture and bedding, as well as commercial and residential office furniture.

The show, organized by Informa Markets, will be held concurrently with MIFF Furniverse, an online experience that aims to connect manufacturers digitally with buyers from around the world.

Show organizers said the MIFF team will continue to closely monitor the current COVID-19 situation to “ensure the most safe and successful exhibiting environment possible for both exhibitors and visitors, in accordance with local government Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and our Informa AllSecure policy.”

Visitors will be able to register soon. For more information on the event, visit www.miff.com.my.
