J Allen Fabric launching Revive performance fabric line

Line of 51 SKUs will be stocked in Los Angeles and available for immediate shipment

LOS ANGELES — Fabric supplier J Allen Fabric is launching a new line of PFAS-free performance fabrics at next week’s Interwoven show that will be in stock in its Los Angeles area warehouse.

The Revive Performance Fabrics line includes 51 SKUs that will be available from its warehouse and ship in as little as a day from the time of order. Made in China, the fabrics also are available to overseas factories and on container-direct shipments to customers in the U.S.

In addition to being PFAS free, the line is made with a 90% polypropylene and 10% polyester blend that the company said is stain resistant, bleach free and easy to clean with soap and water. It also describes the line as soft to the touch, while also featuring contract grade durability.

Made with 100% upcycled fibers, the company said, the line also has a sustainability story that speaks to demand in the marketplace for eco-friendly products across various generations of consumers.

Other major players are also using propylene fabrics that are inherently stain resistant. A key difference with J Allen’s Chinese-made line is the commitment the company is making to keeping the fabrics in stock and available for immediate shipment, a similar strategy it has in place for other fabrics in its line.

As some other similar performance-type fabrics are made in the U.S., the company also said this offers a value story in terms of its pricing and availability to both overseas and domestic manufacturers.

“With big customers, the best way for them to save the most money is to buy containers direct from China and in large quantities,” said Mike Willoughby, senior vice president of sales and marketing, noting that the line will offer new levels of value not previously available in this category. “But the majority of customers will buy it through our warehouse program because the pricing is still so good.”

He added that the mix also offers product across price points, thus reaching a wide array of customers, from the lower-end, high-volume-driven segment of the market to the upper end.

“We have some beautiful product that some of the higher-end resources are going to love, but we also have more commodity product that the big volume guys are going to love, too. We have all the bases covered.”

Buyers at Interwoven can see and learn more about the new line at the company’s High Point showroom at 336 S. Wrenn St.
