Description: The president of ISPA also serves as the president of the Mattress Recycling Council, an executive leadership role responsible for providing strategic direction and effective management to both organizations. The president will manage growth and inspire excellence in each organization to achieve their respective visions and missions. As the leader of ISPA and MRC, the President serves as the public face of the organizations to advance their strategic goals, engaging directly with ISPA’s members and others in the sleep products industry, as well as other trade associations and non-profit colleagues, regulators, legislators, policymakers and other stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the sleep products industry, its public policy issues and the quickly changing dynamics of the industry. They should have significant leadership and management experience. Exceptional oral and written communication, organizational skills, curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit are essential for success in this position. Position is a hybrid position based in Alexandria, VA and requires both domestic and international travel.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in the sleep products industry or other manufacturing field, bringing knowledge, insights, and practical skills that contribute to the association’s success.
- Proven track record in strategic decision-making and effective problem-solving, showcasing resilience and adaptability in addressing diverse challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to implement an organization’s vision.
- Strong leadership experience with demonstrated skill in supervising and mentoring cross-functional teams.
