LAS VEGAS — Full-line upholstery and case goods resource Flexsteel is returning to the Las Vegas Market this week with its first permanent showroom since January 2020.
The company had a temporary space over the summer market where it had a private showing with about 20 customers.
But this is its first time back with a permanent space since before the pandemic, and it is offering a broader product assortment with many more appointments planned in its 7,000-square-foot space in A-529.
As of this week, it had 240 appointments planned over the first few days of market alone, which is nearly the number of accounts it would see in High Point. It’s a sign executives are interpreting that retailers are eager to see the company — and its extensive product line — once again.
“We are excited to have a presence on the West Coast once again,” said David Crimmins, vice president of sales and product. “We have gotten a very positive response from the retail channel, which is where we believe there is a lot of opportunity for growth.”
He said that about half the accounts are coming from the Rockies on westward and that 35% are coming from the central region of the U.S., including from Mississippi to the Rockies, as well as Texas and the Midwest. The balance is from the East Coast.
Customers will largely see product the company showed in High Point in October, but since many of the anticipated dealers don’t come to High Point, they will be seeing it for the first time.
The mix includes its Chevron case goods collection, several of its Latitudes sourced motion groups, four models of its Zecliner sleep chair and all four groups in its entry-priced Charisma line. In addition, it will be showing Flex, its new RTA and e-commerce-friendly upholstery line, as well as some new domestic stationary upholstery groups.
“We have covered our whole assortment, but we have focused on new and recent introductions,” Crimmins said.
On Sunday evening of Market, the company also is hosting a Flexsteel gallery customer appreciation event at the Venetian. Some 30 dealers are expected to attend.
“We filled up those slots within a couple of days of posting it, which is another good sign that we have some really good customers and retail partners,” Crimmins said.
