by Company’s first operation in the state expected to create 123 jobs
ORANGEBURG, S.C. — Children’s furniture resource Delta Children announced it is investing $33 million in a new plant in Orangeburg County, a move that the company said will create 133 jobs.
The 400,000-square-foot facility also is the company’s first operations in the state, creating a manufacturing and distribution hub that will serve customers along the eastern seaboard.
The company, which was founded in 1968, makes and sells children’s furnishings including nursery furniture, youth bedroom furniture, indoor and outdoor play products, strollers, play yards, mattresses and more. Its bedding line includes infant, toddler, twin and full sized mattresses that are sold under the Delta, Serta and Simmons brand names as well as product licensed under the Disney and Jeep brands.
The project is being partially funded by a $300,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund Grant the Coordinating Council for Economic Development awarded to Orangeburg County for various building improvements. The council also has approved job development tax credits related to the project.
South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster congratulated the company on the project, which is expected to begin operations in 2026.

Delta officials were not immediately available for comment for this story, but in a statement said, “We at Delta Children are excited about this new project in South Carolina. This will help us bring manufacturing jobs back to the USA and allow our company to grow into new categories. We appreciate how the state and the county have come together to make this happen.”
Orangebury County Council Chairman Johnnie Wright also applauded the partnership between the company and the state, saying that “It speaks volumes about our region’s ongoing prosperity. As we proudly embrace this milestone, we highlight the remarkable potential we possess here in the core of South Carolina, while also celebrating the creation of 123 new job opportunities that will enhance the livelihoods and incomes of our valued citizens.”
