HIGH POINT – While most of the headlines regarding Hurricane Ian were related to damage in Florida, it also made its presence known here this past weekend.
Heavy winds and rains also did damage to parts of the International Home Furnishings Center as seen in the photos below. While the mess will likely be cleaned up in time for the Oct. 22-26 High Point Market, here is a look at what hurricane force can do to signage, plants and awnings.
A section of the International Home Furnishings Center sign near the entrance to the Main wing was torn off by heavy winds.
Heavy winds also blew down this awning in front of the IHFC.
The Home portion of the International Home Furnishings Center sign is propped up near the entrance to the Main wing, waiting to be reinstalled.
Further wind damage impacted some of the ornamental decor at the front of the building.
