PICO RIVERA, Calif. — Full-line furniture resource AICO/Amini Innovation Corp. has named industry veteran David Koehler president.
He succeeds Martin Ploy, who retired following the October High Point Market.
Koehler has been in the industry for nearly 30 years, including his time at AICO, where he has worked for the past 12 years.
He started with the company in October 2010 as vice president of sales, a role he held for 11 and a half years. For the past year, he has been executive vice president.
Before joining AICO, he was senior vice president sales at Theodore Alexander for five years and for 11 years before that was a sales representative and territory manager for Maitland-Smith.
He began his industry career in sales at Sherrill Furniture.
In his new position, he reports to Michael Amini, CEO, chairman and founder of AICO.
“David is an action-oriented leader who has demonstrated a high level of integrity and performance over many years,” Amini said. “He energizes teams and inspires people to go the extra mile. As our new president, David’s sharp focus, strategic thinking, commitment to preparation and uncompromising work ethic will serve our company and valued customers well as we pursue our aggressive growth strategy.”
Koehler said he is “humbled, honored and extremely energized to serve such an exceptional organization as AICO.”
“In my 12 years at AICO, I have watched and learned from great leaders such as Martin Ploy, Chuck Reilly and of course, Michael Amini himself,” Koehler said. “We have an amazing collection of committed and talented people that take great pride in what they do — we call it ‘AICO pride.’ It is a testament to Michael’s leadership, extraordinary work ethic and innovative vision. I look forward to leading our dedicated team and executing our overarching strategy of helping our customers be successful. I’m looking forward to serving AICO for many, many years to come.”
