by WALDORF, Md. – Contemporary and modern furniture retailer Scandinavian Designs has opened its newest showroom here, representing its first location on the East Coast.
The retailer held a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the 28,500-square-foot showroom at 11055 Mall Circle on December 12. The opening was attended by community leaders and members of the Charles County Chamber of Commerce.
“We’re a well-established brand in the west, and we’re thrilled to open our first physical location on the East Coast,” says Edward Gerard, Scandinavian Designs, chief operating officer. “We have maintained an East Coast warehouse to support our Midwest stores, and we always anticipated future expansion into that region as well. Waldorf is perfectly situated to serve not just the DC Metro area, but also as a springboard to reach the entire Northeast, where our online sales are already strong.”
Scandinavian Designs is headquartered in Boise, Idaho and has 44 locations across 14 states. Entering its 60th year in business next year, it describes itself as a “contemporary home furnishing destination rooted in a love for Nordic culture, modern design and quality craftsmanship.”
In addition to living room, dining room, bedroom and outdoor furniture, it also offers home office furniture and a mix of home accessories and decor.
