LC Direct expands dining program options for fall market

Mix includes 10 new table and chair sets that also include side pieces

HIGH POINT — At this week’s High Point Market, case goods resource LC Direct is nearly doubling the number of groups it is offering in its dining program launched this past spring.

The company has about 11 active inline groups and is showing 10 brand-new sets featuring a mix of tables, chairs and side pieces.

The Easton dining set is one of the new groups being introduced by LC Direct. Made with oak veneers in a washed gray finish, a table and four chairs retails at $1,299.

Scaled and designed as formal versus casual dining, all of the groups have regular-height rectangular tables featuring a mix of leg, trestle and pedestal bases with companion chairs and in some cases benches. Rectangular tables with fixed tops seat four to six comfortably, and those with a leaf seat about eight comfortably.

About half of the groups also offer 54-to 60-inch round fixed-top tables with pedestal bases that seat four to six comfortably. All groups also feature servers.

Made at the Bangladesh factory of company parent Samson Holding, the groups feature a mix of white oak and birch veneers and are targeted to retail from $999 to $1,999 for a table and four chairs. They also cover a wide mix of styles including contemporary and transitional as well as casual and updated traditional looks.

The company is expanding the program based on the popularity and demand of the initial 12 collections introduced in April. Of those, 11 went into production.

“It has been very well received, and we are pleased with the reception we’ve gotten,” said Kevin Miller, vice president, sales. “We’ve gotten great feedback from retailers.”

The Peyton dining set is made with white oak veneers and shown in a Frost Gray finish. A table and four chairs retails at $1,499.

They are shipped by container direct from the factory, and another benefit for retailers is the mixability of the program, as multiple groups can ship on a single container. This allows retailers to select from a variety of models and not load up on too much inventory spread across one or two groups.

“That is the selling proposition,” Miller said, noting that the company has made a significant investment in the dining program, including the development of a climate-controlled warehouse.

“We have to commit to inventory to support the program,” he added. “You can mix any of these collections on a container from our inventory.”

Miller also noted that the dining mix ships out of Bangladesh in 14 days from the time of order and that the new groups are targeted to ship in February and hit retail by next April.

At market, the new sets can be seen at the company’s showroom at The Mill at 126 S. Centennial St. in High Point.
