PICO RIVERA, Calif. — AICO (Amini Innovation Corp.) participated again in Walk For Hope and raised over $43,000 for City of Hope to continue their fight against women’s cancers. For the past twelve years The AICO All-Stars are made up of employees, executives, and their families and friends plus supporters within the furniture community. Consistently, one of the top fund-raising teams, they walk united to support City of Hope’s efforts to find new treatments, drugs and cures for breast and gynecological cancers.
Because of concerns of COVID-19, the walk was held virtually on Sunday, November 7th with an exciting and fun virtual ‘on-line’ program featuring doctors, patients, community leaders and various team captains, giving them all a chance to participate in real time. This annual event usually attracts 10,000 to 12,000 people walking the Duarte, CA campus of City of Hope.
This year’s co-chairs where two furniture industry notables; Rick Powell, formerly of the Powell Company, and Ryan Mahoney of the International Market Centers. Together they spearheaded the 25th Anniversary of Walk for Hope with amazing results raising over $2.4 million dollars!
After the program, participants were encouraged to choose a route of their own in their neighborhood to walk to show support for patients, survivors, medical team members and researchers.
“For 25 years the Walk for Hope has been an essential part in supporting the City of Hope’s mission,” said AICO All-Stars Team Captain and AICO president, Martin Ploy. “I’m deeply grateful to our team and community for their hard work and support in helping to raise awareness in the fight to cure women’s cancers.”

City of Hope is helping to lead the battle against cancers unique to women through research, treatment, and education. The Walk for Hope event provides funds to support City of Hope’s efforts to push the boundaries of science to advance research treatments for women.
