MotoMotion creates new MotoLiving brand

Company names industry veteran Jackson Carpenter to manage the new upscale segment as executive vice president

ARCADIA, Calif. — Upholstery and adjustable bed base resource MotoMotion/MotoSleep has created a new upscale line called MotoLiving and has hired industry veteran Jackson Carpenter to oversee the brand.

Jackson Carpenter

Carpenter, who was most recently president of MW Home, has been named executive vice president at MotoMotion. In his new position, he reports to Jack Copley, president.

“Jackson brings with him a wealth of knowledge in developing better goods with proven retail success,” Copley said. “We feel he’s a great fit to keep moving Moto in the direction we had always envisioned.”

The MotoLiving brand will offer a line of motion sofas, modular sectionals, loveseats and recliners that take the MotoMotion line to the next level in terms of quality and style. For example, it will offer better leathers, larger scaling and tailored design elements such as stitching and welting.

The line also will feature the company’s patented triple power system it has had for years in the MotoMotion line, incorporating that functionality into the new design footprints.

At the April High Point Market, the company will show about 50 new pieces in the MotoLiving line. It will be produced in the company’s Vietnam manufacturing facilities that produce all of its motion upholstery.

Carpenter said he is pleased to be joining the company at this point in its history.

“Moto is a unique company within the industry,” Carpenter said, adding that it has “well-managed, excellent facilities and is positioned to grow. They have an excellent reputation for quality and innovation that I wanted to be a part of.”
