Newest members include Johnson Furniture in Alabama, Outrageous Interiors in Georgia and Vinson Fine Furniture in Ohio
MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Three retailers have recently been approved as members by Furniture First’s board of directors: Johnson Furniture in Eclectic, Alabama; Outrageous Interiors in Marietta, Georgia; and Vinson Fine Furniture in Columbus, Ohio.
For more than 60 years, Johnson Furniture has operated in central Alabama’s River Region. Today, the store is operated by the fifth generation of the Keith family, with an emphasis on quality and custom-order merchandise.
Patti Gosch founded Outrageous Interiors in 1988 and was joined in the business by her husband, Kurt, shortly after their oldest child was born. Today the family operates four stores across metro Atlanta with a client-focused design team.
Vinson Fine Furniture started in 1979 as a kitchen and dining specialty retailer. It was a family venture from the outset, and the Vinson family centered their business around the heart of the home. In 2022, they rebranded to become a full-line furniture store with a focus on heirloom quality furnishings.
Andrew Kauffman, chief executive officer of Furniture First, said the buying group is pleased to welcome these new members.
“They each have had a unique retail journey but have a similar mindset: to learn from other retailers facing the same challenges that they are,” he said. “Right now, that is traffic, promotions and staffing. Long term, it may be benchmarking and succession planning. We offer support and solutions for a variety of challenges.”
Furniture First is a cooperative national home furnishings and mattress buying group serving full-line independent retailers with sales over $2 million. Collectively, the group sells $3 billion at retail with their approved merchandise programs in the 524 member storefronts. Furniture First recently opened a new showroom at 336 S. Main St. in the heart of the High Point Market district. For more information on Furniture First membership, please visit www.JoinFurnitureFirst.com or call 800-411-3477.
